Your Purpose

In line with Explora Journeys policies and procedures and under the supervision of the Wellness and Spa Management, the Senior Therapist creates and leads the highest level of service to guests, being able to perform a variety of skincare, body care and massage treatments. Train and supervise all spa therapists in latest trends, and guest service protocols. Responsible for responding to all interactions in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.

Your Impact

• Guarantee the perfect quality of our care and exceptional service to our guests.

• Ensure the mastery of protocols, methods, products, services and rituals and being able to perform these on guests.

• Ensure the seamless implementation of the personalized care (diagnosis, construction of the program, personalization of the care, recommendations, etc.).

• Implement all necessary training for Spa team members and regularly evaluate them to ensure consistency of the treatments delivered and standards.

• Be exemplary to the team in the way to live every day with a sense of detail, refinement of the brand and sense of service to the guests.

• Collaborate closely with the Spa Management by providing regular feedback and recommendations in a logic of continuous improvement.

• Provide the Spa Management with team member evaluations on the aesthetic and technical part, knowledge of protocols and methods.

• Assist to resolve guest treatment complaints and be an ambassador of the Wellness and Spa at all times.

• Effectively communicate and coordinate new treatments and products to Wellness and Spa employees.

• Assist with weekly and monthly inventory, supplies and products, creation of inventory lists, new treatment supply changes.

• Ensure Spa Department has supplies and products needed to function and operate at the optimum level.

• Perform any other duties directed by Spa Management.

Your Journey So Far

• High School Graduate or equivalent.

• At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Spa Therapist in a five-star spa environment, of which a position of Spa Team Leader or Head Therapist was held for 1 year minimum.

• Upselling and cross-selling skills.

• Exceptional communication and guest service skills.

• The ability to take a proactive approach understanding guests needs and desires.

• Sensitive to the world of beauty and luxury, a keen sense of detail, accuracy, and refinement.

• Able to promote treatments, services and cosmetic products without giving the impression of being a “hard seller”.

• Be computer literate, possessing skills in both word-processing and spreadsheet applications.

• Excellent human relations skills and sense of observation and listening with a talent for motivating employees to excel and to be perceptive to the individual wants and needs of our guests’ residents and peers.

• Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.

• Ability to function under a fast-paced environment, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions.

• High work ethic, with sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team.

• Good analytical skills, pragmatic, solution driven and sense of continuous improvement.

• Maintain a professional appearance and behave in a mature manner with integrity at all times.

• Good elocution, innate sense of listening, politeness and dialogue.

• Have excellent interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele.

• Possess a valid passport and seaman book.

• Basic familiarity in Computers. Ability to operate office equipment

• Proficient in English. Any additional language is considered an advantage.

Your Essentials

• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.

• Must hold ITEC/CIBTAC/CIDESCO qualifications.
