LMAS Laundry Master
Your Purpose
The Laundry Master is responsible for the Main Laundry operational process, following up on the teamwork performance, training on each equipment used, the quality of the guests and team members items once processed in the Main Laundry. Work closely with the Linen Keeper in order to maintain the inventory of the ship linens and terry up to par.
Your Impact
• Maintain and reports the functionality of the entire equipment used in the main laundry.
• Ensure the laundry team is properly trained to use the equipment and rotated periodically at each equipment.
• Actively involved and inspect the quality of all the items processed, exiting the main laundry.
• Report to the Housekeeper and Linen keeper at the end of the week the quantity of items discarded due to wear and tear, stains and damages.
• Follow the Company procedure when guest or team member items are accidently damaged.
• Follow the Company procedure when receiving items to be processed and cross check the slip and the content of the bag to avoid discrepancies.
• Ensure the workflow in the Main Laundry is followed by the entire team, checking the schedules and adapting them if needed accordingly to the operational needs.
• Assist with luggage loading and offloading if requested by the Housekeeping Manager for operational needs.
• Actively participate in the monthly in-use count of the inventory kept and present in the main laundry, assisting the Linen Keeper.
• Submit the laundry chemical consumption and the daily processed items, by the end of the shift.
• Ensure the team is wearing the PPE and follows the Public Health protocols as trained, for each situation.
• Ready to assist the housekeeping department when needed, as per Housekeeper guidance.
Your Journey So Far
• High School diploma or similar preferred.
• Cruise ship experience in this role.
• For safety and others on board, certain physical abilities will be maintained.
• Must be able to climb, bend, perform repetitive motion and eventually heavy lifting.
• Basic knowledge in computers is advantageous.
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Any additional European language is considered an advantage.
Your Essentials
• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.
