Sales Coordinator - Field Sales
Your Purpose
The Sales Coordinator plays a vital support role within the sales organization by assisting
Sales Managers and serving as a key liaison for Travel Partners contacting the sales
department. Although not directly responsible for selling, this role is essential to
maintaining strong partner relationships and enabling the sales team to focus on
strategic growth and client engagement.
In this role, the coordinator works closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs),
supporting sales efforts with travel agency partners and managing a range of sales and
service administrative functions. A key responsibility includes reconciling sales and
marketing budgets monthly, ensuring financial accuracy and providing variance analysis
to support accountability within the sales department.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to
manage cross-functional communication and coordination efficiently.
Your Impact
- Monthly reconciliation of marketing invoices for budget revisions ensuring
- financial accuracy and identifying variances.
- Servicing booking issues raised by Travel Partners, Sales Directors, and BDMs.
- Creates and submits JIRA/Seibel tickets for resolution. Follows up with
- BDMs/Directors upon resolution.
- Assist Directors and BDMs with strategic sales & marketing efforts for Travel
- Partners.
- Schedule meetings with Travel Partners as requested by Directors and BDMs.
- Following up on requests and inquiries from BDMs and Travel Partners and using
- these interactions to create selling opportunities.
- Calls to Travel Partners on behalf of the Sales Manager to follow up on booking
- issues, educate on MSC Cruises’ products, promotions and selling tools;
- introduces and/or creates brand awareness and identifies or qualifies selling
- opportunities.
- Partners with all BDMs in the coordination and execution of trade related events
- such as ship tours, FAMs, training functions, inaugurals, and Seminars at Sea.
- Works within Sales to ensure accessibility and understanding of corporate and
- brand policies, procedures, and key selling attributes.
- Works with BDMs and Travel Partners to ensure Co-op marketing expenses are
- submitted and paid in accordance with established guidelines.
- Research service requests and works with internal departments to resolve issues
- for BDMs and trade partners.
- Research pricing discrepancies and request price matches with Revenue
- Management through the Director of Field Sales
- Checks on the status of refund, commission, co-op, and other requests.
- Expedites post-cruise inquires to customer relations.
- Relays any communication with accounts to BDM.
- Assists with requests for existing bookings.
- Vacation coverage for BDMs, utilizing email address in out of office message for
- Travel Partners to contact directly.
- Providing overflow support for Sales Support during high volume periods.
Your Journey so far
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Associate’s degree, equivalent education, or 1-2 years sales experience.
- Ability to build credibility with solid product knowledge, procedures, consistent
- follow through, organization and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- intermediate to advanced knowledge preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of Salesforce.
- Ability to use advanced business and sales knowledge to make decisions
