Sr. Analyst - Casino Performance

Your Purpose

This position is responsible for developing and owning various operational, financial, and strategic analyses in support of decision-making for the global Casino department. The analyst will create and report on Casino KPIs, develop financial models, and provide recommendations to leadership to increase revenue and improve efficiency. In partnership with the global Casino team, the analyst will support all global Casino booking channels, which include Partnerships, Independent Reps, and House, as well as any other acquisition methods.  The role will play a key role in assessing new and existing partnership proposals, commission structures, and incentive plans. 

Your Impact

  • Prepare fact-based written recommendations to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and marketing effectiveness
  • Lead revenue initiatives and data-driven projects to increase shipboard revenue
  • Create, develop, and maintain standard and ad hoc reporting, including performance by channel against track and commission payments. 
  • Understand back-end data shipboard and shoreside and interaction with relevant databases
  • Own analytical processes and communicate major findings and recommendations in operationally-friendly deliverables
  • Analyze operating results by decision-relevant variables
  • Identify and quantify opportunities to improve KPIs through information gathering and analysis.
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative business cases, evaluating new products, services, or providers
  • Summarize variance investigations and assist in the development of action plans
  • Create and implement benchmark reports for operating groups shoreside and shipboard
  • Develop operating ratios to monitor performance, benchmarking against industry standards
  • Build and maintain financial or other analytical models to predict effects of operational initiatives
  • Utilize quantitative methodologies to model complex business problems and develop recommendations
  • Recommend and champion best practices to peers and assist in driving change through operations
  • Support business cases for new ship builds, dry dock changes, and operational initiatives
  • Represent Casino when required, specifically with many of the Shared Services departments, to gain support for initiatives
  • Assist with global budget and forecasting work with support from HQ
  • Performs other duties as required.

Your Journey so far

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Statistics or similar background
  • Casino data analytics experience preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of work experience in analysis, project planning, and business case development 
  • MBA or Masters Degree preferred; BBA or Bachelors degree in quantitative discipline required. 2 year experience leading projects in medium to large companies. 
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in finance, accounting, or other analytical position required
  • Business/financial planning and analysis experience preferred.
  •  Strong proficiency in query/reporting tools, such as Microsoft SQL Server, MS Access, or Hyperion.
  • Strong proficiency in visualization tools, such as Power BI (preferred) or Tableau
  • Competency in computer systems and applications is essential, including MS Office, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources.
  • Experience managing large projects and teams with budgets of more than $1 million dollars.
  • The individual must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operational personnel.
  • Able to analyze extensive and complex ranges of data, information, processes and, system solutions to produce effective and efficient business solutions
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Able to manage multiple small and large projects that run in tandem
  • Able to communicate in a flexible manner to ensure understanding across all levels of organization
  • Understanding of the business in order to validate findings and conclusions and ensure data integrity and accuracy at all times
  • Facilitate meetings and present solutions to issues with groups while dealing with variety of variables in situations where no standardization exists.
  • Understanding of database design and information systems, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize accordingly
  • Ability to articulate to operational team requests for information as well as key findings
  • Knowledge of statistics and predictive behavior modeling
  • Knowledge of Hyperion BI Suite, Oracle Database, SAS, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project strongly preferred.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, as well as common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from other departments, customers, or members of the business community Leadership skills to proactively institute financial discipline.
  • Ability to write executive level reports
