Your Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Site Team as a Cabins and Crew Spaces Interior Outfitting Associate Manager. Reporting to the Site Director, you will be responsible for controlling and inspecting the quality of materials, assembly, and installation processes. You will identify and report any discrepancies against approved project specifications, proposing adjustments when minor issues arise and offering suggestions for improvements to support future shipbuilding projects. You will be inspecting both guests and crew cabins, in different phases and until the final hand-over. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing regular updates to stakeholders involved in the cabin delivery process.

Your Impact

• Ensures that all cabins (including balconies) are built within the set timescale and in line with the approved architectural design, contractual requirements and functional requisites.
• Ensures that crew spaces are built within the set timescale and in line with the approved architectural design, contractual requirements and functional requisites.
• Follows the architectural design implementation and development, maintaining accurate and up to date records of all activities and inspections.
• Attends project meetings and prepares progress reports together with your team leader.
• Ensures that all materials used are compliant and in scope with the specifications and the architectural design, of a suitable quality fit for its intended use and approved by class.
• Suggests minor adjustments as may be found necessary on site and follows implementation and development of any architectural design change.
• Highlights relevant aspects of the ship’s architectural design that can be improved for future constructions.
• Involves the Technical Site Specialist(s) during the construction and commissioning phase to ensure that technical accessibility and functionality of equipment is duly verified.
• Highlights relevant aspects of the ship’s architectural design that might jeopardise the functional requisites and must be improved for the current project or can be improved for future constructions with New Building department approval.
• Assists with Plan Approval activities as required.

Your Journey so far

• A Degree in Interior Design applied to shipbuilding or equivalent qualification or consistent relevant experience is required
• Substantial experience with delivering inspections of cabins, crew spaces applied to shipbuilding or refitting in shipyards or onboard cruise vessels in operations along with some experience in a leadership position.
• Good knowledge of fire, thermal and phonic insulation.
• Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent and PowerPoint) and ability to use design programs such as AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Marine Rules and International Standards and Regulations. 
• Ability to review new building specifications and drawings and to read and understand a variety of engineering drawings.

Your Essentials

• Right to work in Italy and to travel within the EU.
• Fluency in English, knowledge of Italian is a plus.
