Your Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Executive to join our team. As a HR Executive, reporting to the HR Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the HR department. You will be required to manage and support all HR-related processes, including maintaining employee records, coordinating recruitment and hiring, managing payroll and benefits, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. You will also act as a first point of contact for employee queries and concerns, contributing to a positive employee experience.

Your Impact

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
  • Handle workplace concerns, advise on conflict resolution, and support formal disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policies and legislation.
  • Support performance management initiatives and coach managers in best practices.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and legally compliant employee records, including contracts, warnings, and performance documentation.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from advertising to interviews and onboarding.
  • Assist with payroll input, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR reporting.
  • Compile statutory reports and other HR compliance metrics.
  • Represent the company in CCMA matters when required.
  • Maintain up-to-date data on employee movement including incapacity, promotions, terminations, and transfers.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and support the implementation of learning and development plans.
  • Organize training sessions, staff workshops, and internal HR events.
  • Coordinate and execute employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs, team-building activities, and wellness events.
  • Ensure all HR systems (e.g. PaySpace, SuccessFactors) are kept up to date and accurately reflect employee information.
  • Stay informed and compliant with all relevant labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Any additional duties assigned aligned with the scope and nature of the role.
  • Maintain a professional and positive image of MSC Cruises in all internal and external interactions.

Your Journey so far

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, with a strong focus on employee and industrial relations.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ discipline specific experience.
  • Contact Centre experience a huge advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree / equivalent NQF 6/7 level in human resource management or related field an advantage.
  • Matric essential.
  • Legally eligible to reside and work in South Africa essential.

  • Sound knowledge of HR practices, labour legislation, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience using HR Information Systems, particularly PaySpace and SuccessFactors, is essential.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Microsoft word, Microsoft Power-point).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity A MUST.
  • Self motivated and disciplined.
  • Acute attention to detail.
