Your Purpose

As a Commis I with our prestigious cruise line, you play an essential role in delivering an exceptional culinary experience for our guests.  

Your primary responsibility will be to assist in preparing high-quality meals that align with our brand's reputation for excellence. 

 In this role, you will contribute to creating a warm and welcoming dining atmosphere, working collaboratively with your team to ensure efficiency and safety. 

 As a Commis I, you'll develop your skills in various kitchen stations, gaining hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the intricate workings of the culinary department on board a cruise ship.

Your Journey So Far

To succeed in this position, we require that you have: 

Previous onboard experience as a Commis I or in a similar culinary role within a cruise line or hospitality setting.  

A solid understanding of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness. 

Collaboration is at the heart of your work, supporting senior chefs while taking pride in your contributions to a dynamic and diverse kitchen team. 

Attention to Detail from mise en place to plate presentation, your focus on precision ensures every dish delights our guests. 

Commitment to growth whether through formal training or hands-on learning, you continuously seek to improve and expand your culinary expertise. 

Your Essentials

To qualify for this position, you must: 

Proven experience as a Commis I in a high pace kitchen environment, ideally within the cruise industry. 

Fluent English to communicate with different nationalities 

Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods. 

Excellent understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards. 

Ability to work effectively in a team and, under pressure and manage time efficiently. 

Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
