JTF0104 Chief Engineer

Your Purpose

As Chief Engineer, you are the person in charge of everything related to the ship’s technical operations. Your main goal is to make sure that all mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems are working safely and efficiently at all times. You will lead the engineering team, apply company procedures, and ensure compliance with international safety and environmental standards. In this key role, you help keep the ship in top condition, allowing both crew and guests to enjoy a smooth, safe, and reliable journey. 

Your Impact

Your Journey So Far

To excel in this role, you should bring:

You hold a valid Chief Engineer license (IMO STCW Reg. III/2 or equivalent) 

You have proven experience as a Chief Engineer or in a similar senior engineering position onboard passenger vessels or cruise ships. 

You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and can effectively communicate across departments. 

You have a strong track record in managing complex marine engineering systems and leading diverse technical team

You are adept at implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS) and enforcing compliance with international maritime regulations. 

You have experience working in multicultural, fast-paced environments under high operational demands. 

Your Essentials

What you’ll bring to the team: 

Lead departmental activities while enforcing company policies and procedures for engine operations. 

Oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical/mechanical systems onboard. 

Ensure the ship’s technical integrity in accordance with all safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations. 

Manage inventory of ordered equipment, spare parts, and consumables while monitoring consumption. 

Supervise the upkeep of technical documentation, repair logs, and planned maintenance schedules.  

Engage and motivate your team to uphold standards required by SMS procedures. 

Immediately report any mechanical issues affecting ship safety to the Master. 

A proactive approach to teamwork, with the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic shipboard environment.
